Wanna put this here and say what a long crazy trip this has been, not making a “pop” record, but having rode for many years on a single leap of faith that the pursuit of living narrative was the most legitimate art a person could make in this age. The people I’ve shared this experience most intimately, we’ve been in love and we’ve been at war, we’ve been to heaven and hell in any instant along the way. The Life Stains, completed almost two years ago, is a testament to that course of life. I’d like to thank Mark Masters for this amazing review and again and again to Brad HOSS for his help making The Life Stains a completed effort. 2014 is the year of the horse and so we’ll keep riding ahead as before except with everything now that’s behind us. To keeping our eyes peeled and ears agape to every act of this living theatre. To our warm embrace, to our icy distance. To the people with courage to bring levity about this nightmare of our collective individualisms and to those with weakness for hate in themselves and for the fear in others. Nothing happens without you. PS… How sweet is it that Pitchfork 69’d DJ Dog Dick? What a score!
